Before riding today I added oil to my Savage. Upon my return I noticed oil leaking around the air box where it attaches to the carburetor. There was oil dripping down the battery case. During the ride, 115 miles, there was no loss of power, no problems, no smoke, nothing to indicate a problem. (At one point, I wanted to see how much power the Savage really has…it reached 80mph and was still climbing. This was only for a brief moment. Even at this rate, the gas mileage seemed to be over 50 mpg…If my calculations are correct around 55mpg to be exact!). The air filter had no oil on it, and the oil level appears correct. The amount of oil leaking was low. Based upon previous posts it appears that I may have put in to much oil. Other then draining some of the oil, is there anything else I should do?
